Another good cast guys. However they’ve stopped being great for the past few. Not sure if it’s because you guys are more busy or what but a little bit of the magic is gone.

It seems like the cast is more packaged and neat and it makes it less fun. Almost like it’s an hour long star city infomercial. Too many edits and breaks. Jam packed with information is fun but half the reason YmtgT is great is just you guys going back and forth with banter. Whether it’s 100% related to magic or not.

I admit you guys totally got me with the april fools joke and I was actually worried you guys had to change your name so that was pretty funny at the end of the cast.

I still think you guys should get Medina as a permanent co-host, but maybe that’s just me. Can’t get enough of that guy lol.

Anyways, keep up the good work guys.

Look forward to seeing you both in the booth at the next Open you guys do!

    Hey Drew,

Thanks for the feedback! Very much appreciate it.

    Just a couple of things:

    1) I don’t think our content would change much if we weren’t on SCG. We discuss (and always have) the recent, relevant tournaments—most weekends, this happens to be a SCG event. If we mention SCG articles, it’s because we read them and liked them. In recent weeks we’ve also mentioned a ChannelFireball article (MagicTV) and a ManaNation article. I wonder if the fact that we are sponsored by SCG makes people think we’re deliberately giving SCG more airtime; however, this is not the case. The increase in the number of SCG Open events makes these a topic almost every episode. If you listen back to last week’s show (actually, the one we’re commenting on right now), we didn’t really spend a lot of time talking about SCG LA. We spent the majority of the show discussing Legacy on MTGO and our opinions on Extended.

    2) As far as edits and breaks, in most cases I’m simply putting in a transition between topics. I’m not cutting out material, just trying to make the topic changes more clear. I know this kind of thing often implies some time passing, but in reality 95% of the time you’re hearing the full discussion with a sound effect added in between—there is nothing missing.

We appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback, and I’ll definitely keep this in mind when we record the next few episodes. 🙂

As far as having Medina as a semi-permanent host, we attempted something like this with “The BAMF Report,” but he is on so many podcasts now we’re just in danger of homogenizing all the MTG podcasts as “Medina & Some Guys.” I already get Crazy Talk and Untapped mixed up! 😛 We’ll still have Medina on from time to time, as always. In fact, we’ve already got something brewing.

Thanks again! Don’t hesitate to let us know any more thoughts you may have. 🙂

Yeah now that I think about it my “SCGinformercial” might have been a bit unfounded. I apologize for that.

Did you hear a lot of people saying that the topics weren’t clearly broken up? I just remember back when there weren’t a lot of those topic breaks and it felt like the cast flowed better. It feels very compartmentalized instead of hey these are just 2 guys talking about stuff. Comes off as kind of clinical and loses some of the wholesomeness? Not sure if I’m explaining that well.

I totally hear you about Medina. That guy is everywhere, and like I said that’s probably just my opinion. He’s sort of like Tom from Monday Night Magic in that I could just listen to him talk for about ever because he’s got that kind of voice that draws me in and keeps me interested. Not that you guys don’t. I think you and BHJ are stoneblades. Definitely the best SCGLive duo so far imo.
